My decision to try stand-up comedy came - falteringly - in the summer of 2004, born out of a combination of jet lag, Eddie Izzard hero worship and the stunning realization that, after three years busting my ass to get a degree, I really didn't want to be an anthropologist. However, it remained a dormant crazy dream while I spent the next year finishing my anthropology graduation degree.
Soon after, I enrolled in Barry Weisenberg's comedy class and, egged on by his encouragement (not to mention his thrilling ability to laugh heartily at my jokes), I performed in front of real people at the Hollywood Improv show. I was hooked! Since then I've performed in various venues around Los Angeles and, while living in Europe , I did shows in Ireland, England and Spain.
My favorite comedians are the afore-mentioned Mr. Izzard, Ellen Degeneres, Jeff Foxorthy, British comic Alan Davies, my mentor Barry (master of the one-liners) and my amazing, hilarious friend, Jenean Atwood. (You'll definitely be hearing more from her!)
I'm available for comedy shows, women's groups, senior citizen homes, business lunches, weddings, bar mitzvahs... (OK, I lied about the last two.)
